KISS« perform for a sold out crowd in Greenville, South Carolina with supporting act Krokus. Performing 15 songs, of which they included Oh! Susanna during this set, of which was played many nights.
Accident
During this show, stage hand John Leland Addington fell from a catwalk, prior to KISS' performance, while investigating a possible fire in the lighting truss. The audience was evacuated while the fire department dealt with the fire, caused by a hot 1,500 watt bulb being placed on the wooden catwalk and smoking. Audience members reported seeing the smoldering catwalk some hour before the incident. Addington passed away from his injuries after reaching the local hospital.
